If you only do one thing this week, book tickets to this musical
Since the first time I saw Six on London’s West End in August, I’ve listened to theon repeat every day. It’s the first thing I hear in my head when I wake up, and the last thing before I go to sleep. I’ve already seen it a second time, and have my third visit booked. I haven’t experienced this kind of obsessive reaction to a piece of– or any other cultural output, in fact – since I was a teenager. But then Six isn’t really like anything else I’ve seen.
If it sounds ridiculous, that’s because it is – but in the best way possible. Writers Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow – who amazingly wrote the musical while still studying at Cambridge University – embrace this ridiculousness with arms wide open, and the result is a hilarious, frankly genius, contemporary retelling of the stories we all only vaguely know from the 'Divorced, Beheaded' rhyme.
