While she's away, her roommate Yukichi tidies up the house and preps meals for her in exchange for her using the money she earns for rent and groceries.

The comedic timing is perfect as Yukichi's size and behavior is contrasted constantly with his love for familiar cat tropes. For instance, in one episode, Saku buys him some catnip to play with knowing that other cats love it. However, he quickly rolls it up and smokes it.
Masterful Cat's Heart Makes It Surprisingly Wholesome Masterful Cat has a pretty good set-up for the first few episodes as it depicts the Odd Couple-like behavior of Yukichi and Saku. One is messy while the other cleans it up, only putting up with her because her salary feeds him. However, this doesn't mean that Yukichi doesn't care about Saku. In fact, his appreciation for her is a highlight.
The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today is still debuting episodes every week until the first season inevitably comes to an end. Hopefully, the finale won't be the end of Saku and Yukichi's story though. The manga is still ongoing, and the series as a whole is one of the most adorable comedies running today. This new Crunchyroll comedy's heart and humor make it a must-watch for cat lovers as it showcases just why cats are great pets, for better or worse.
