The San Francisco Giants announced that Cristin Coleman, wife of former pitcher Tim Lincecum, died earlier this summer after a battle with cancer.

“The Giants were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Tim Lincecum’s wife, Cristin Coleman,” the team

. “Our deepest condolences go out to Tim, Cristin’s family and all those whose lives she touched as a friend and teacher.“She was beloved by the Giants family and her caring and genuine spirit touched those of us who were fortunate enough to know her during her and Timmy’s years with us.”, Coleman, the principal of Washington Elementary School in Burlingame, Calif., died “peacefully” on Jun. 27.

Her parents described her as a “bundle of love, joy, quick wit and creative energy” and “the light of our lives, a beautiful human being who touched so many hearts” in a July obituary.Giants officials only recently learned that Coleman and Lincecum, the three-time World Series champion, had married, according to theLincecum, 38, who has not formally retired despite not pitching in the majors since 2016, has not said anything publicly regarding Coleman’s death.
