August 13, 2023 The fire department originally received a call about an unknown fire at about 6:05 p.m. When crews were on the way, they learned that it was a semi-truck and trailer on fire with exposure to a building. Glendale Police Department arrived first on the scene and reported an explosion that was possibly a fuel tank.
Officials say the fire was upgraded to a second-alarm hazmat fire after discovering power lines were impacted and downed, as well as the amount of fuel and plastic burning.Grand Avenue finally reopened Sunday morning more than 15 hours after the blaze sparked Saturday.
