Seniors in Chicago’s public high schools who are interested in a teaching career can begin applying to a prep program that's aimed at boosting the number of CPS grads working as educators within the district.

Teach Chicago Tomorrow is a partnership between CPS, the City Colleges of Chicago and Illinois State University that offers two pathway programs for aspiring CPS teachers. Through the second track, students complete their associate degree at City Colleges of Chicago through either part-time or full-time classes, then transfer to Illinois State or any other four-year institution to complete their education degree program.
According to CPS, about 50% of Chicago teachers are white, but more than 80% of students are Black or Hispanic.
