Animal services officials have tracked down the coyote and killed it, reports say.
officials still can’t be completely sure the coyote that was shot is the one that attacked the toddler. The coyote will be tested for rabies, NBC DFW reports.
Residents who live in the area where the attack occurred say they had seen the coyote in the area before the attack occurred, reports say. An urban biologist with the city tells the Morning News that the attack is unusual. “I’ve been doing this for about 20 years now and I haven’t seen anything like this,” Brett Johnson said, according to the Morning News. Johnson tells Fox 4 the coyote likely was diseased.
