Michigan has become the nation’s latest coronavirus hot spot, with cases, hospitalizations and deaths rising to levels far higher than the national average.show, close to three times the national average. The increase reflects a 14 percent rise in new daily cases during the past week. New infections in the United States overall have increased by 10 percent during the same period.
“The vast majority of patients in the [intensive care unit] and on ventilators are unvaccinated,” they said, and hospitals are being overwhelmed by the surge in covid-19 patients, as well as the number of patients with other conditions requiring care.
