The would-be arsonist fled but was arrested a short distance away, police said.
A 67-year-old woman was hit in the face after approaching a man lighting grass on fire in front of an apartment building on Fort Street early Wednesday evening, Victoria police say.Police said the woman and a 66-year-old man were in the 1300-block of Fort Street, near Craigdarroch Castle, about 7 p.m. when the altercation happened.
Police said the woman was struck in the face and the man was pushed. The would-be arsonist also tried to hit a third person.Police said the suspect faces aggravated assault and assault charges and was held in custody to appear in [email protected]
