The Cumberland County Jail officer was originally indicted in 2019 on charges related to the death of Gregory Kubiak.
on Nov. 17, 2018, according to county officials. Jail staff attempted CPR and Kubiak was taken to a hospital where he died Nov. 20, 2018.
A grand jury indicted Cotto in 2019 on a second-degree charge of official misconduct and third-degree counts of endangering another person and tampering with public records. Prosecutors declined to discuss the new indictment and the attorney representing Cotto did not respond to a request seeking comment.
