Bryn Kirvin is scheduled to begin in January, ahead of outgoing executive director Sharon Spivak’s retirement.
Bryn Kirvin, a career prosecutor in the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, has been nominated to become the next executive director of the San Diego Ethics Commission. Career prosecutor Bryn Kirvin has been approved to take over as executive director of the San Diego Ethics Commission once current leader Sharon Spivak steps away early next year.“It’s a privilege to be here today,” the San Diego County deputy district attorney told the council ahead of the vote.
The charter amendment, which won more than 70 percent support from voters, also gives the commission the authority to name its own executive. The City Council was asked to approve the Kirvin nomination because the Nov. 5 election results have not yet been certified.
