When health bosses warn lives are in danger because of the cost of living crisis, it is time for the Government to sit up and take notice.

As more desperately sick patients arrive at its doors, there is barely a bed left in the entire hospital to put them in. Cold homes can lead to falls, asthma, strokes and heart attacks and financial worries can also lead to mental health concerns – all of which will pile pressure on a health service which is already under the cosh.

Get around the table, ministers It is about time the Scottish Government and transport unions got around the negotiating table to resolve the current pay dispute in a bid to avert further disruption next month and in the lead-up to Christmas.
