Contigo is recalling the lids on 5.7 million of its Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles sold at Target, Walmart and Costco because of a choking risk.
Contigo announced Tuesday that it is recalling the lids on 5.7 million of its Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles because the spouts pose a potential choking hazard.
"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles, take them away from children and contact Contigo for inspection instructions and a free replacement lid," the recall notice states. However, Contigo has received 149 reports of the spout detaching including 18 spouts found in children’s mouths, according to the recall notice.
The affected water bottles come in three sizes and four bottle colors , according to the notice. They were sold individually and in packs of two and three.
