Conservative bill on harm against pregnant women defeated in House cdnpoli
Liberal MP Jenna Sudds called the changes to Wagantall’s bill “unnecessary” and said its contents take “no genuine action to end the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence.”

This is completely false, and there is no valid justification for this legislation,” said NDP MP Heather McPherson. Molly’s father, Jeff Durham, launched a campaign called Molly Matters and has been asking MPs ever since to pass legislation recognizing that killing a fetus should be a separate offence. He’s long argued that he lost two people that day — his partner and his unborn daughter.
