The Santee Fire Department kicks off Fire Prevention Week with its annual Santee Fire Department Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at Station 4 at 8950 Cottonwood Ave. Firefighters will give demonstrations and tours. There will be fire prevention and first-aid educational activities for all ages, including information on smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
