It is a damp start to the day for Central Ohio. We have a broken line of showers sweeping from west to east across the state. By daybreak these showers will be in Southern/Eastern Ohio and then we are dry the rest of the day. Temperatures are in the 60s right now , but we will quickly drop into the 50s behind the rain and then we stay in the 50s all day long. Mostly cloudy morning then partly cloudy this afternoon with 10-20 mph winds out of the northwest.
The rain Central Ohio is experiencing this morning is with a cold front. This front is pushing from NW Ohio into SE Ohio and that front will slow down over Kentucky and West Virginia tonight and tomorrow. There will be a stronger disturbance riding along that cold front from the Tennessee Valley up towards Pennsylvania tomorrow. Rain will stay to our south/east in Kentucky and West Virginia Friday morning. A little of that rain may push farther north and cross the Ohio River.
We settle in to a dry and chilly pattern for the weekend and early next week. Morning low temps this weekend will be in the lower 30s. Mostly sunny Saturday and warming to a high around 51 then partly cloudy on Sunday and a high of 52. So dry and chilly for any of your weekend activities. Next week we slowly warm up closer to 60 with sunny skies, thanks a high pressure parked right over the Ohio Valley. Our next chance of rain will hold off until the end of next workweek. Long-term projections are showing a chilly Thanksgiving with highs in the 40s and the chance of rain is looking very slim thanks to another area of high pressure parked over the region. Stay tuned for any adjustments that may need to be made over the coming weeks.
