The “Workforce Hub” program won’t steer extra federal money to those communities, but it will guide them to existing federal grants they can seek to support workforce development, officials said.

The “Workforce Hub” program won’t steer extra federal money to those communities, although it will guide them to existing federal grants they can seek to support workforce development, the officials said. Columbus was picked because it has “emerged as a center for investment across a variety of industries,” which include semiconductor manufacturing, clean energy and transportation, they said. They also praised Columbus’ community college workforce development programs, and the city of Columbus’ work to pioneer registered apprenticeships.
