Wolves close out the pre-season by losing to Barrie 2-1 in a shootout
The Sudbury Wolves were on the road in Barrie against the Colts on Saturday night for their final pre-season tune-up before coming back home for the start of the regular season.
The first period was a penalty-filled affair, with six minor penalties being given out in total, two to Barrie and four to Sudbury. Both teams headed out onto the ice to start the middle frame determined to break the tie and get the first goal of the game for their teams, but despite several scoring chances, both West and Krawchuk maintained their shutouts, with Krawchuk in particular standing strong in net for Sudbury, and the score remained 0-0 with one period remaining in regulation.
Just over three minutes later, Devin Mauro continued to show his scoring prowess with his third goal of the pre-season to tie the game for the Wolves, 1-1 with just under three minutes left to play in regulation time.
