University of Colorado two-way standout Travis Hunter returned earlier than expected after suffering a lacerated liver on an illegal hit Sept. 16 against Colorado State. Hunter missed three games and wasn't expected to return to the Buffaloes' lineup until a game at UCLA on Oct. 28 following their bye week.

BOULDER, Colo. — Two-way standout Travis Hunter returned to the University of Colorado lineup against Stanford on Friday night nearly a month after a late hit from a Colorado State defender last month sent him to the hospital with a lacerated liver.
When the Buffaloes got the ball, Hunter lined up at wide receiver and later scored on a 24-yard catch-and-run, after which he went to his knees, looked up with his arms outstretched and his palms up as if in thankful prayer. Hunter, however, received medical clearance to return to practice earlier this week and showed enough to get the starting nod against the Cardinal .
Hunter was playing every snap on offense and defense for the Buffaloes before he got hurt on Sept. 16.
