TRURO, N.S. — With the holiday season fast approaching, the Colchester Food Bank is readying for a food drive that will hopefully let them meet the needs of their ever-expanding clientele.
"The food drive has always helped us get through the Christmas season, which has always seen increased usage," said Executive Director Shelly DeViller."We hope the food bank will benefit from the food drive in a greater way this year." Pinto has supported the food bank for many years, even donating the land on which the current food bank stands. His wife currently volunteers with the Colchester Food Bank.
"I thought I'd come to the plate, and if this helps other people donate, I'm happy to be the first one to initiate that process."
