It managed to stay on top of the leaderboard for two weeks, probably even more impressive for a series with overall shorter episodes than most others, which makes it able to be finished in half the time as other shows. But Cheer is a force to be reckoned with. The first season of the show was a breakout hit for Netflix, turning many of its college-age cheerleaders into national celebrities, and the second season deals with a lot of the fallout of that, both positive and shockingly horrible .The second season of Cheer is focusing not just on Navarro like the first season, but also its rivals, Trinity College, the constant second-place finisher that is positioned as an underdog to the reigning champs.
