Authorities have seized approximately 400 pounds of illegally caught red snapper from a fishing boat off the Texas coast Thursday, according to a U.S. Coast Guard release. A Coast Guard Station South Padre Island boat crew found the fishing boat, or lancha, was found approximately 15 miles north of the maritime boundary, the release states. Four Mexican fishermen were caught with 400 pounds of red snapper, fishing gear and high flyers used by commercial fishermen.
