Kerr has been deep in his reference bag lately.
“One thing I want to get across is that it’s definitely not me sitting over there like ‘Wait a minute, they called us out — that’s not good, man!’” he said. “My wife was like, are you upset with him for that? No, because I’ve coached at other schools. I’ve coached against Canisius too. I understand it. But maybe we could talk at some point, or maybe I could learn something. He could give me something that he thinks works or whatever.
He's a fan of Kerr’s occasional forays outside of basketball, too. Kerr spent the Trump years expressing his disgust with the president and pleading for stronger gun control as the massacres piled up. “I’m impressed with the issues that he will take on, that he’ll speak passionately on. It doesn’t hurt that these are things that mostly I agree with,” Witherspoon said.
