Justin Antos, who teaches band at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Ill., received the CMA Foundation's Music Teacher of Excellence Award.
Justin Antos is one of 30 teachers from across the U.S. to receive the CMA Foundation's Music Teacher of Excellence Award.A high school teacher is making Chicago proud by molding young minds with the sound of music.
"There's something about music, it really teaches us to be human," said Justin Antos, Ph.D. "And I think if there's anything we need a little bit more of in the world is a little bit more humanity." According to IllinoisReportCard.com, about 82.5 percent of students at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School students are members of low-income families.
