The two-time NBA Finals MVP is “questionable” and still dealing with inflammation in his right knee going into Sunday’s game with the Dallas Mavericks.

PLAYA VISTA — Clarity over Kawhi Leonard’s availability became slightly murkier Thursday when it was disclosed that the two-time NBA Finals MVP was still dealing with inflammation in his right knee.
Leonard first experienced soreness in his surgically repaired knee after the Clippers’ game against the Charlotte Hornets on March 31, and missed the final eight regular-season games. Three days before Game 1, he still has not participated in full-contact drills or started any physical ramp-up. The All-Star forward was enjoying his healthiest season since arriving in Los Angeles, playing 68 games, the most since he was a member of the San Antonio Spurs in 2016-17. He was averaging a career-high 34.3 minutes this season.
Meanwhile, Coach Tyronn Lue continues to practice with or without their star forward. He said the Clippers have gone over a lot of plays and schemes in the past three days to prepare for the Mavericks and are “locked in.”
