Clint Murchison III was the eldest son of Cowboys founder Clint Murchison Jr., described by family as a quiet, introverted, loving family man.
Murchison, 77, was described by family members as quiet and introverted, yet also as a funny and quick-witted intellectual man who was dedicated to his family and serving others. Murchison was the chairman of the Tecon Corporation, an investment firm founded by his grandfather,Murchison was born in San Antonio in 1946, after his grandfather arranged for Murchison Jr.
“We’d always go out to the Cotton Bowl together,” Burk Murchison said. “It was incredible to see the team as it jelled and turned around.”Being only two years apart in age, Burk Murchison said he and Clint were close growing up, with some of his fondest memories with his brother being the years they spent playing football together in high school.Clint Murchison III's father founded the Dallas Cowboys and football was a family obsession.
“He adored my kids, his grandkids,” George Murchison said. “Right at the moment when we thought he was gonna move along without an emotion, I turn around and he’d be hugging my daughter. He loved his grandkids for sure.”George Murchison said his father, being quiet, was a guy who would lead by example rather than telling you what to do.
George Murchison also said his father was an intellectual, who was well-read and prone to engaging family and friends in deep conversation.“He was just a deeper thinker, and he constantly read,” George Murchison said. “He was a student of life, and it came through with his intellectual curiosity.”
