"We were literally watched the entire time," Lucas said about a particular encounter on a west side course. Bibb noted, in last week's announcement, that the group's bid was chosen over six others for a variety of reasons, including the fact that many of them have played at and loved Highland. The proposal"reflects the commitment to celebrating the course's rich history as a minority golf course,"
The non-profit management will allow the course to apply for outside funds, which should help it become financially self-sustaining.
