Jay Carlton said he is thankful for the man who eventually called 911.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland police are looking for the driver who seriously injured a man in a hit-skip on Cleveland’s West Side last month.Police said Jay Carlton was riding his bike in the curb lane when he was struck from behind.“I am cussing up a storm, I am laying on the ground and I am trying to recall what type of vehicle it was,” said Carlton. “I am thinking, ‘oh man, what’s going to happen to me, I don’t know.
According to him, it’s the same man who turned over the Ring doorbell video to police in the hopes of tracking down the driver. Carlton said he has a hard time even taking a shower and is on medication for the pain, but knows it could have been much worse. “I imagine from my experience, a quarter inch one way or the other I would have either been paralyzed or dead,” said Carlton. As he recovers, Carlton has a message for the person who hit him.Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland police.
