A stalker who harassed actress Claire Foy has been handed a nearly two-year suspended sentence and will be deported to the US.
Claire FoyJason Penrose, 49, was sentenced to one year and 10 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, at the Old Bailey on Friday.
On Friday, Judge David Aaronberg KC said he remains ‘troubled’ that Penrose, who is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, ‘may continue to be infatuated with Ms Foy’.This is despite him having already been repeatedly told that she wants no further contact from him under any circumstances. If he returns to the UK during his suspended sentence, he must notify the Metropolitan Police of his arrival, telling them where he intends to stay and for how long.
