The pre-game fireworks at the stadium seemed more intense than usual, leaving a heavy bank of smoke above the field.Italian star Lorenzo Insigne, a former Napoli skipper, captained Toronto in the absence of the injured Michel Bradley and Jonathan Osorio.
Neither team managed to accomplish much in a scoreless first half with Toronto spending more time in the New York end but failing to threaten despite Insigne dipping into his bag of tricks, from a backheel in the penalty box to feeding teammates. TFC is unbeaten in five matches at home this season and has lost just two of its last 12 games at BMO Field.
