Women’s “invisible workload,” the expectation of overwork in this country, and a lack of supportive policies and social norms dictate whether working moms can successfully navigate all that’s required of them right now.
In this time of crisis, families expect 110 percent from their mothers, and employers expect 110% from their employees. Mothers are expected to work like they don’t have kids and parent like they don’t have a job. When working moms can’t do both, they're labelled as selfish. It’s completely unrealistic, and in a COVID-19 world, we need compassion for people who are overwhelmed and overworked.
Eat what makes your body feel good , move your body or even work up a sweat, and get enough sleep . Carve out some time every day to do something you love, like curling up with a book and a cup of tea or taking a hot bath. For the kids, this is their free time to choose what brings them joy.Just because you’re isolated, doesn’t mean you have to go it alone.
