SAN DIEGO - San Diego County is seeing a shortage of childcare facilities. The City of San Diego is trying to make it easier for families to find childcare by bringing services to local recreation centers and parks.
Tyler shares her little ones are 3 years old and 12 weeks old, respectively. She spent months trying to find childcare for for her eldest son. With her husband still on active duty, the family turned to the military, but it just wasn’t an option. Ryan is the Program Coordinator for the Office of Youth Success. She says the pandemic forced many childcare providers to shut down.
“There are parents out there that need something right now. Not a year from now or two years from now,” says Tyler. “I think it's a good initiative. I think that it's a good idea, it would be great. What are the costs?”
