Ontario was the last province to announce its decision after all other provinces made the same move in recent days.
Provincial and federal privacy watchdogs recently announced an investigation into whether the video-sharing platform complied with privacy legislation. Waterloo police said its main TIkTok account had also been paused and all members with TikTok downloaded on their work phones had been directed to delete it, pending reviews.
