The city will be extending 78th Avenue S.E. eastward under the existing CP rail tracks, as well as building a new road network.
The city will build a bridge for the CP Rail line at 78th Avenue so vehicles can go under it. Bhatti said it is not a simple project, given the trains need to keep running during construction.
Bhatti said the planned work on 78th Avenue reflects an expected increase in traffic, both of vehicles and pedestrians.The city is expected to soon announce which of the two construction conglomerates that qualified to bid on Phase 1 of the Green Line project will get the contract. Bhatti said the work in Ogden can be done outside of the larger plan. He said as the owner of the project, the city has its own schedule and has consulted with both bidding teams on the work.
