Christopher Nolan continues to add to the star-studded cast of his upcoming atomic bomb movie Oppenheimer. His latest recruit is Josh Peck, who will be playing American physicist Kenneth Bainbridge.
Christopher Nolan adds Josh Peck to the cast of his World War II film Oppenheimer. Nolan will be returning to the theaters in 2023 with a new epic that follows the"father of the atomic bomb" Robert Oppenheimer through his scientific breakthroughs with nuclear weapon technology during World War II.
Variety reports that the Drake and Josh star Josh Peck has joined the ever-expanding cast of Christopher Nolan's World War II feature Oppenheimer. He will play the American physicist Kenneth Bainbridge, who assisted with research for the Manhattan Project, the code name for the United States' effort to develop nuclear weapons during World War II. Bainbridge was the director of the famed 1945 Trinity nuclear tests in what he later described as"a foul and awesome display.
Christopher Nolan's upcoming thriller is based on the Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin Pulitzer Prize-winning biographical book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Nolan has chosen to shoot sections of the film in black and white using an IMAX camera, making it the first movie to use black and white IMAX film stock.
