Paterson's animal control officer John DeCando has wrapped gifts for 300 cats and dogs

DeCando, Paterson’s longtime chief of animal control, has been stuffing boxes with cans of donated pet food, treats and squeaky toys since early November. He’s making a list and checking it twice, collecting the names and phone numbers of Paterson residents who would like to give their pet something for Christmas, but can’t afford it.
