FRESNO — A Washington couple are facing potential life sentences after California Highway Patrol officers searched their car and allegedly uncovered more than 300,000 fentanyl pills, in what police call the state’s biggest ever seizure of the drug.
The complaint says the suspects, both residents of Washington, told Kensey they were driving back from Los Angeles, where they’d been celebrating Hill’s birthday. When Kensey asked Hill, the driver, what they did in city packed with famous tourist attractions, he allegedly replied, “ate food.”
