Chipotle has launched Chipotle skill for Alexa to reorder meals for delivery or pickup, while Wingstop added online ordering Extension with Twitch.

Removing friction from the ordering process is nothing new. But until recently, it’s been concentrated to the pizza space because of the delivery/pickup piece. That delivery/pickup piece has since expanded well beyond pizza. Now, off-premise occasions, and so more brands are figuring out ways to make ordering as easy as possible.
Also Thursday, Chipotle announced that its customers can now use the Chipotle skill for Alexa to reorder their favorite Chipotle meals for delivery or pickup. It’s no coincidence that the two restaurant brands with the most impressive third quarters came out with new ordering innovations on the same day. Wingstop’s same-store sales jumped 12.3% during the quarter, while Chipotle was up 11%.
