Just 21 days after joining the Ohio State coaching staff, Bill O'Brien is leaving to become the next head coach at Boston College.

Just 21 days after joining the Ohio State coaching staff, Bill O'Brien is leaving to become the next head coach at Boston College. The news became official late afternoon on Friday.
And replacing him as OSU's offensive coordinator will be UCLA head coach Chip Kelly, according to the university.Kelly rose to prominence when he turned Oregon's football team into a speed-heavy offensive juggernaut in the late 2000s. He tried his hand in the NFL, going 28-35 in three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and one season leading the San Francisco 49ers.
Kelly then returned to the college game, and the Pac-12, when he took over at UCLA in 2018. He spent the last six seasons coaching the Bruins, who are set to join the Big Ten this fall. Day and Kelly have a long history together. Day was the quarterback at New Hampshire when Kelly was the offensive coordinator. Then, years later, in Kelly's final season with the Eagles in 2015, and in his only season with San Francisco in 2016, Day was the quarterbacks coach.Day had just announced Wednesday thatin order to spend more time on the increasingly important business side of college football -- NIL and the transfer portal, in particular.
Day has built a reputation as a strong offensive mind who works well with college quarterbacks. Kelly, known for the same, could help Day evolve into more of a CEO type of head coach that the sport now demands.
