HONG KONG - Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD on Tuesday said it expects third-quarter net profit to as much as double thanks to robust sales and effective cost control.
This was down to the company "leveraging on its improving brand influence, continuously expanding scale advantage and strong industrial chain-wide cost control capability, demonstrating strong resilience", it said. -- Lithium giant Albemarle Corp. has walked away from its A$6.6 billion takeover of Liontown Resources Ltd., after Australia’s richest woman built up a blocking minority and effectively scuppered one of the largest battery-metals deals to date.
