Simon Cheng is now back home in Hong Kong after being detained in China for more than two weeks
HONG KONG—An employee of the British consulate in Hong Kong has been freed after being detaining in China for 15 days.
Simon Cheng, a Hong Kong citizen who works as a trade and investment officer at the U.K. mission, returned to the city Saturday, his girlfriend said. “Simon has arrived Hong Kong safely, and is in the company of Consulate staff and friends. He has no external injury,” she said.
