13 people were shot, one fatally, in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Saturday on the 1800-block of North Kostner Avenue in the Hermosa neighborhood.
The victim, 55, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Mt. Sinai hospital where he later died, according to Chicago police.On Saturday a man shot while driving on the Northwest Side of the city, according to police.The victim, 29 was driving northbound when a red car approached and someone inside the car started shooting at him.The suspects fled the scene. Area Five Detectives are investigating.
Responding officers found him in a nearby backyard with two gunshot wounds to the right leg. Officers also found a handgun next to the victim.READ MORE: On Sunday, a 36-year-old man was dropped off at Trinity hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 12:40 a.m.The incident is being investigated by Area Two detectives.
