At least 26 people have been shot, five fatally, during shootings in Chicago this weekend, the police department said.

Two victims, 34 and 36, were shot in the head and transported in critical condition to Christ Hospital, where they later died, police said. Their identities have been made public. A 27-year-old was shot in the back and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said. A fourth victim, shot in the leg, self-transported to Roseland Hospital in good condition. Detectives are investigating and no one is in custody.
In nonfatal shootings, a 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday night in Chicago Lawn on the South Side. The teen was standing on the sidewalk in the 6600 block of South Washtenaw Avenue when someone in a car fired shots around 6:20 p.m., according to Chicago police. He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to the back, police said. Area detectives are investigating.
