The so-called Bayou Bend project is also tripling in size to nearly 140,000 acres from the previously announced 40,000 acres in Chambers and Jefferson counties, the companies said Monday. With the capacity to store more than 1 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide, Bayou Bend’s mission is to market carbon capture and storage to industrial emitters along the Houston Ship Channel and in Beaumont and Port Arthur.
