Corner quarterback Brendan Conner helped lead the Yellow Jackets to their seventh straight win last week and earned the Hollis Wright Birmingham Player of the Week honors in the Week 8 poll.
The senior received 74 percent of the 23,759 votes cast after completing 9-of-11 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown and running for 108 yards and three scores on nine carries in a 42-13 win over Oak Grove. Parker senior linebacker Carlton Duncan finished third in the poll after contributing 8 tackles and 2 interceptions in a last-minute 13-10 win at Mountain Brook.
