The dismissal was decided due to a clause that grants immunity to case workers which was first presented in a Lackawanna County case from 2023.Caseworker Steven Murphy, his supervisor Clarissa Kiessling, and CYS assistant administrator Sherri Depasqua were all believed to have contributed to 15-month-old Iris Mummert's death due to alleged mishandling of Mummert's case.
Sinnett went on to say that shortly after those concerns were ignored, Mummert's mother, Felisha Ellis, violently shook the child.
