Charges against top-ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler have been dropped in Louisville.

May 17 as he tried to drive into Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville for the second round of the PGA Championship.

Police were attempting to control traffic outside Valhalla amid rainy conditions early that day after a shuttle bus struck and killed security guard John Mills. According to, Scheffler refused to comply with directions given by Louisville police detective Bryan Gillis, who had been pressed into traffic-control duty. Gillis said Scheffler dragged him to the ground as he accelerated his SUV past him in an attempt to enter the course.

“I got arrested Friday morning, and I showed up here and played a good round of golf as well.
