A home that has been at the center of a police standoff in Spring is on fire, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Multiple agencies this afternoon responded to a domestic violence prevention call.

Patino was at the home, which he owned, and the scene developed into a standoff after he told constables he was armed. SWAT teams responded and dispatched drones and robots inside. When the fire started, it appeared the Spring Fire Department was cautious about approaching the building because Patino was still inside. Firefighters donned ballistic vests before they started fighting the flames, officials said. Firefighters were able to prevent neighboring homes from being damaged, officials said. Once authorities arrested Patino, more firefighters joined the effort to snuff out the flames.
