The striking workers are asking for wages that keep pace with inflation and are in line with what employees at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills earn. Some employees at Cedars’ Marina del Rey facility make as little as $17 an hour, the union said. “I’m making $24 an hour now, but I’d like to see that raised to at least $25,” he said. “But even that wouldn’t do much anymore with inflation costs and gas prices being so high.”
“While we respect the right of our represented employees to participate in a strike, we strongly believe these kinds of activities distract from important work that can only be done through constructive discussions at the bargaining table,” Cedars said.
