The CDC is warning that a brand of eye drops may be linked to a bacterial infection that has affected at least 50 people in 11 states. One person died from the infection.

Others who became ill had respiratory infections or urinary tract infections, and one person died after the bacterium entered their bloodstream.A brand of over-the-counter eyedrops may be linked to a bacterial infection that left one person dead and three others with permanent vision loss, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The eye drops in question are labeled as preservative-free, meaning the product does not contain anything that could prevent microbiological growth.
