While Kevin Gausman had an unusually rough outing, at least by his standards, Nate Pearson continued to show his reliability in relief work.
Down 6-1, slowly but surely, the Jays were able to work around Gausman’s ineffectiveness by creating base-runners and then producing timely hits.
Mind you, Jordan Romano did not have his best stuff, either, when he entered the game to begin the ninth inning.
